GoleMalarkey
based on Jewish folk tales.
Jewish fairy play for pre school - and schoolchildren. The collaboration of the Golem Theater and the Snook Project.
How is a half-blanket, a pomegranate seed, King Solomon, a bee and a candle of truth come into one story? The rabbi tries to breathe life into the Golem with the power of these tales! Will he succeed? Anything can happen, if the audience helps! The performance is framed by the legend of the Golem, and four well-known Jewish folk tales have been selected from the book „Jewish Folk Tales”.
The rabbi decides to create a creature, who will help people in everyday prosperities. The creature, Golem is made of clay and mud. To put life in it, in the evenings the rabbi tells stories to the Golem.
In this play, we picked four Jewish tales, which exemplify the characteristics and traditions of Jewish thinking and culture – and we added live music and puppets to them.
